Princess Cancels 2024 Canada & New England Cruises

After Princess Cruises announced a plan to add two new cruise ships to their fleet in 2024, Princess Royal canceled her cruise on the line, leaving her successor to the throne, Princess Eugenie, without a cruise vacation.

It’s official. Disney Princess will be canceling their cruises in 2024. The cruises were Princess’s most successful product under the brand, and Disney has decided to withdraw it due to low ticket sales. The cruises were the first line under the brand, and Princess was never intended to be a cruise line. Princess will still market themselves as a cruise line, but cruises will go through changes.

Princess Cruises has announced that it will not be sailing on its flagship Royal Princess in 2024. With the announcement, the ship’s five-year contract with the line is also off, leaving it without an official home for its next two years. (At least the ship wasn’t laid up, as it was when it had its previous home, Royal Caribbean.) Instead, Princess is taking on a second Royal Caribbean ship—the Grand Princess—which will be sailing the Caribbean from late this summer.

Due to an order from Transport Canada extending the closure of Canadian ports to cruise ships, Princess has canceled the remainder of its 2024 season in Canada and New England. The canceled flights include the Canada and New England routes of seven nights that were scheduled for this fall, as well as the Caribbean Islander route of 14 nights that was scheduled for the 28th. August to the 6th. November on the Caribbean Princess.

If an equivalent cruise is available in 2024, customers can transfer their reservations to that flight. Rebooking requests will be processed in the order in which they are received.

Travelers may receive a future cruise credit equal to 100% of the cruise price paid and an additional non-refundable bonus of 10% of the cruise price paid. These future cruise credits can be used for all cruises taken before 31. December 2024 can be booked.

Guests who do not wish to use any of the above options may receive a full refund of the money paid for their reservation through their original payment method. People who cancel a flight will not be able to rebook it at the 2024 rate, as the price guarantee does not apply to people who request a full refund. Sail with confidence

Customers can book a new cruise with peace of mind knowing that Princess is working closely with the CDC to identify best practices for onboard health and safety. The Cruise with Confidence program also offers peace of mind to booked guests, as they can cancel their reservation for any reason up to 30 days prior to departure. In this case, they will receive a credit on a future cruise to cover the cost of the cancellation, as well as a refund of any extra money on the original payment method.

If a guest tests positive for COVID-19 within 30 days, they are also protected by the ability to cancel the trip and receive the same refund and credit for a future cruise.
